Girona Announces Plans To Expand Stadium Capacity To 14,500

La Liga side Girona announced plans to "expand its home stadium," according to Ashish Khanna of INSIDE SPORT. The club revealed plans to "further expand the capacity" of its home stadium following a "successful start" of its La Liga campaign. The project will include an "additional 1,000 seats installed in the Gol Sur stand," which will result in the stadium’s capacity growing from 13,500 to 14,500. Of the new seats, 400 will be designated to VIPs, while 300 will be made "available to club members and the remaining 300 are to be sold on matchdays." When Girona was promoted to La Liga in '17, Estadi Montilivi could only hold 9,200 spectators (INSIDE SPORT, 7/6).
