Media Notes: Greece's Cosmote TV Signs Extension To Show NBA

Greece's Cosmote TV signed a multi-year partnership extension with the NBA. It will be able to "air more NBA matches on Cosmote Sport channels, and all games will also be available on demand through the Cosmote TV Go and Cosmote Replay TV services." Cosmote TV subscribers will have access to more than 250 live broadcasts a year, "as well as daily action throughout the season" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 7/4).

The World Cup has helped beIN Sports France pass 4 million subscribers, the channel announced. BeIN President Yousef Al Obaidly said, "In just 6 years, we have attracted more than 4 million subscribers." The channel's coverage was helped by the progress of the French team, which will play Uruguay in the quarterfinals on Friday (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 7/4).

The Czech Republic's Digi TV secured the exclusive rights to Serie A for the next three seasons. Digi said that it will make another major announcement on football rights next Wednesday. Coverage of Serie A will be offered on Digi's proprietary channels Digi Sport 1 HD, Digi Sport 2 HD and Digi Sport 3 HD from next season (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 7/5).

The Czech Republic's O2 TV signed "significant agreements" for broadcasting rights to the Czech First League with current holder Pragosport. As a result, channels O2 TV Sport and O2 TV Football will air at least 105 live matches per season from '18-19 until at least '22 (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 7/4).
