Media Notes: Nine To Broadcast World Cup Of Golf In November

Nine will be the official broadcast partner of the World Cup of Golf to be held in Melbourne in November. The agreement provides Nine with live broadcast rights and replays, with five hours of competition each day as well as a one-hour highlights program for use on broadcast, social media and 9Now. The PGA Tour will also provide other video clips and features as part of an overall partnership with Nine (Nine).

On-demand global sports streaming service DAZN acquired the multi-platform rights to all Serie B matches, with 10 of 11 per matchday exclusively, until May '21. The agreement includes the multi-platform rights for all of the playoffs (Perform Group).

Russian DTH platform NTV-Plus added a sports package to its offer. Known as Sport Plus, it is available in the western part of the country and consists of 10 channels. These include Match! Futbol1, Match! Futbol 2 and Match! Futbol 3 in SD and HD quality, along with Eurosport 1 HD, Extreme Sports, M-1 Global and Breakpoint, with the package costing 399 rubles ($6.28) a month (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 7/2).

The PGA Tour unveiled artificial intelligence platforms to enhance broadcast and digital storytelling. Among the Tour's primary areas of focus in AI are a Microsoft-developed content relevancy engine, a smart video clipping tool and an automated story creator, all of which utilize data capture by ShotLink powered by CDW (PGA Tour).
