Leicester City Reveals Plans For £80M Training Complex

Leicester City's proposed training complex would include 12 full-size football pitches.KSS DESIGN GROUP

Designs for Premier League side Leicester City's new training facilities were revealed, with the planned complex set to cost an estimated £80M ($104.7M), according to Smith & Salt of the London DAILY MAIL. The KSS Design Group released a "series of concept images" which show the club's plans to build "one of the leading training facilities in Britain." Images were released after Leicester filed a planning application to Charnwood Borough Council to begin development on the 180-acre site at Park Hill Golf Club in Seagrave. The project would take the club "to a level felt only by the top six clubs in England." Upon completion, the center would "boast" a covered show pitch with 499 seats, spectator toilets, an elevated camera platform, 12 full-size football pitches, six part-size grass pitches, two goalkeeper areas, one attacking area and five warmup and technical training areas. It would also include a sports hall and a training center "to be used by the first team and academy" with hydrotherapy, medical, rehabilitation and dining facilities (DAILY MAIL, 6/27).
