Peru To Host 2019 Dakar Rally From Jan. 6-17

Peru will host the next Dakar Rally in January, according to MARCA. The '19 edition of the race, "which has been up in the air" due to "some within the Peruvian government being unwilling to fund it," will take place from Jan. 6-17. It was announced "a little over a month ago" that the race would take place entirely in Peru after agreements were not reached with "typical hosts" like Argentina, Ecuador, Bolivia or Chile. The "project now has the green light" and will take place on the initially scheduled dates (MARCA, 6/28).
