Tottenham Forced To Remove 15,000 Seats From New Stadium

Tottenham was "forced to rip out 15,000 seats" at its new £1B ($1.32B) stadium after they were "mistakenly installed without a protective pigment," according to Robert Cottingham of the London DAILY MAIL. Workers were meant to add a pigment to the navy blue dye that colored the seats but "accidentally left it out," making them "vulnerable to bad weather." Without the special protective pigment, the seats are reportedly "liable to fade from dark to light blue after just months of use." Plastic injection molding firm Certwood reportedly only realized it had omitted the pigment last week and Tottenham must now replace "almost a quarter" of its seats "just a month and a half before the season starts" (DAILY MAIL, 6/27).
