AC Milan Tweets Video Appeal Ahead Of UEFA FFP Ruling

AC Milan appealed to UEFA to "treat everyone with equality" ahead of its expected Financial Fair Play verdict, according to Jonathan Spencer of the London DAILY MAIL. The club released a video on Twitter on Monday putting its case forward ahead of UEFA's decision, "sharing some very important facts" about its revenue. The club said in its video caption, "Ahead of UEFA's judgement, we want to share with you some significant facts. We are expecting fairness, rulings based on facts, equal rules for all." The club spent more than £175M last year on new players "amid questions over the financial stability" of the Chinese-led consortium that purchased the club from Silvio Berlusconi for £600M in April '17. It took a loan from U.S. private equity fund Elliott Management worth more than £263M that club Chair Yonghong Li "has struggled to pay back" (DAILY MAIL, 6/25). FOOTBALL ITALIA reported UEFA’s verdict on whether the club will be excluded from the Europa League "has reportedly been delayed until Tuesday or Wednesday." The delay is reportedly "normal procedure" on UEFA's part and is "not linked to any negotiations regarding the Rossoneri’s ownership" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 6/25).
