Bundesliga Tops World Attendance Figures For '17-18 Season

The Bundesliga again reported attendance figures that "make it the most highly attended league in world football," according to Paul Nicholson of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. The numbers for the '17-18 season are the second highest in the league's history. The 18 Bundesliga clubs averaged 43,879 tickets per match for last season -- the record is an average of 44,293 for the '11-12 season. The '17-18 figures are a growth of 8% on the the '16-17 season (40,693). The Bundesliga attendance calculation is based on the number of sold tickets but "takes into account all complimentary tickets and free tickets." The 2nd Bundesliga also attracted "strong attendances," averaging 17,473 tickets per match in the '17-18 season, but was down on the '16-17 average of 21,560 (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 6/22).
