UNICEF Launches Campaign To Support Refugee Children

UNICEF launched a global initiative called "What Excites Us, Unites Us" to support refugee and migrant children. The campaign demonstrates the power of football to draw support for refugee and migrant children around the world. It is led by a two-minute film that tells the story of Santi, an 8-year-old who migrated from Bolivia to Spain, had trouble finding friends and ultimately found acceptance through a shared love of football. Santi and his friends are treated to a surprise visit from Spain captain Sergio Ramos. Coinciding with the film, the "longest goal challenge" will also be launched on social media as a way to show support for migrant and refugee children. The campaign website will feature compilation videos of longest goal submissions as well as a quiz on World Cup trivia with a focus on migrant and refugee players (UNICEF).
