Media Notes: French Broadcasters Partner For New OTT Platform

France Télévisions, M6 and TF1 Groups are partnering to build a French OTT platform, Salto. The broadcasters intend to provide a response to what the public now expects, delivering a high-quality, innovative and easy-to-use service. The platform will offer a choice of programs including: news bulletins, sports, entertainment, French fictions, U.S. series, documentaries and cinema (Salto). 

The World Cup group match between France and Australia on Saturday drew an average of 12.6 million viewers on TF1 in France. The numbers translated to a 69% market share on TF1. The match, which France won 2-1, drew a peak audience of 14.9 million viewers (L’ÉQUIPE, 6/17).
