Edinburgh Castle To Stage Event During Scottish Open

Edinburgh Castle will be the venue for a "glitzy" golf event during the week of the Scottish Open at Gullane, according to the SCOTSMAN. The Hero Challenge, a shootout "involving some of the game's top players," will take place in the heart of the capital on July 10. The one-hour event will be shown live on Sky Sports "and also be beamed around the world across the European Tour's media platforms." The event at Edinburgh Castle -- to be played on a specially-built tee and green -- "will be the first in a series of iconic city locations planned for this year." The Hero Challenge involves a series of sudden-death shootouts between eight players (SCOTSMAN, 6/15).
