JOSÉ GUIRAO was named Spain's Minister of Culture & Sport. The decision was announced "hours after the resignation" of MÀXIM HUERTA, who was in the role for seven days. Huerta's resignation was related to a case of tax evasion from 10 years ago (AS, 6/13). ... La Liga side Getafe named NICO RODRÍGUEZ its sporting director for '18-19. He replaces RAMÓN PLANES, who recently left the club to join Barcelona (MARCA, 6/14). ... Australian Football League side Melbourne Demons appointed former Collingwood CEO GARY PERT to take over from PETER JACKSON as CEO. Pert, 53, resigned as Magpies CEO midway through last year after a decade with the club as it “underwent an internal review that led to significant changes throughout the club.” He is understood to have "beaten a field of internal candidates" that included Demons Football Manager JOSH MAHONEY, CFO DAVID CHIPPINDALL and Commercial Operations Manager GEORGE DE CRESPIGNY. Pert will start his new position in October (THE AGE, 6/14). ... European Broadcasting Union Head of Winter & Indoor Sport INGOLFUR HANNESSON will reportedly leave the organization on June 30. He will set up his own consultancy business in Geneva. Key EBU staff were informed in January that Hannesson would be leaving this summer (SPORT BUSINESS, 6/14).

COACHES/MANAGERS: League One side Charlton Athletic announced LEE BOWYER will remain as caretaker manager "until further notice" as takeover discussions continue. Former assistant manager Bowyer took charge on an interim basis in March following KARL ROBINSON's dismissal (BBC, 6/14). ... Serie B side Crotone reportedly found its new coach, "poaching" GIOVANNI STROPPA from Foggia. The club is "parting company" with WALTER ZENGA (BBC, 6/13).
