Tottenham To Play One Home Game At Wembley In '18-19

Tottenham announced it will remain at Wembley Stadium for its first home Premier League game of the season, against promoted side Fulham, with the first match to take place at the new White Hart Lane stadium coming against Liverpool in mid-September, according to Jack de Menezes of the London INDEPENDENT. The club will kick off the '18-19 EPL campaign with a trip to Newcastle United, but is due to host Fulham the following weekend. With stadium redevelopments yet to be completed and "a number of test events due to take place before the ground can be officially opened," Spurs formally requested "to start the season with a number of away games to ease their stadium issues" and asked the FA for permission to continue to use Wembley after calling the stadium a "temporary home" last season. Both requests were met, with Tottenham's request to "break up the run" of its first four games with a home match resulting in the final "home" game at Wembley (London INDEPENDENT, 6/14).
