Under investigation in Ghana for alleged corruption, FIFA Council member KWESI NYANTAKYI resigned from the organization. Confederation of African Football President AHMAD said that Nyantakyi "also offered his resignation as first vice president of the continental body" (AP, 6/11). ... NIKKI EMERSON was appointed director of London Marathon Events following TANNI GREY-THOMPSON's decision to step down after 10 years. During her int'l career, Emerson has raced over distances ranging from 100m to the marathon and represented Team GB at the London 2012 Paralympics. Emerson currently works for the Premier League as a business development manager (SPORT INDUSTRY, 6/11). ... Racing Victoria Chief Steward TERRY BAILEY "resigned to take up the equivalent position in Singapore." Bailey, who has been RV's chair of stewards for the past decade, "will finish on July 11 after months of speculation he was headed to the Asian post." RV CEO GILES THOMPSON said that a search for Bailey's replacement will begin under the guidance of RV Exec GM -- Integrity Services JAMIE STIER. Singapore Turf Club Chief Steward PETER CHADWICK is "widely tipped to return to Australia to become boss of the stewards panel in Queensland," replacing ALLAN REARDON, who will finish at the end of this season (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 6/11). ... Sportsnet's JOHN SHANNON tweeted the news that Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment CCO DAVE HOPKINSON "is leaving to run global partnerships" for Real Madrid (SBD Global).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Former Arsenal captain PATRICK VIEIRA was appointed as the new manager of Ligue 1 side Nice. The ex-Man City, Inter Milan and Juventus midfielder was in his third season as head coach of Major League Soccer side NYCFC. Vieira takes over from LUCIEN FAVRE, who was hired to coach Borussia Dortmund in May (BBC, 6/11). ... Spanish Basketball League (ACB) club Iberostar Tenerife named TXUS VIDORRETA its new coach. The news comes "just days after" he left ACB club Valencia (SUPERDEPORTE, 6/11). ... Spanish second division side Real Zaragoza coach NATXO GONZÁLEZ announced his resignation. He will be replaced by IMANOL IDIÁKEZ, who will be introduced by the club this week (AS, 6/11).
