Chelsea Signs Sleeve Deal With Korean Automaker Hyundai

Chelsea named Hyundai its official global automotive partner. Hyundai's logo will appear on Chelsea's shirt sleeves from the beginning of the '18-19 season in all domestic matches, from the men’s and women’s teams through the academy. The four-year deal represents Hyundai’s first venture into the British football market. Chelsea will work closely with Hyundai to develop a range of initiatives and benefits for Chelsea supporters all over the world. The new sleeve sponsor will be seen for the first time on July 23 during Chelsea's friendly against A-League side Perth Glory in Australia (Chelsea). In London, Sam Morgan reported Chelsea announced the deal in a "hilarious video" featuring Olivier Giroud, David Luiz and Tiemoue Bakayoko. The club celebrated bringing in its new global automotive partner in a video with "die-hard fans" Seb, Lucy and Jim, who are "shown in a photo studio with a photographer joining them." It is "not long before Giroud and Bakayoko come in -- and are promptly told to make the fans some tea." Seb then comes back into the shot with a "huge curly wig on his head" (THE SUN, 6/11).
