JACQUELINE HERNANDEZ, a veteran exec who has served in "several senior roles in Hispanic media," was "tapped" as president of Combate Americas, the MMA sports and entertainment outfit "focused on Hispanic audiences." Hernandez was most recently a consultant to Combate Americas. She will be based in N.Y. and report to CEO & Founder CAMPBELL MCLAREN (DEADLINE, 6/4). ... Esports organization Gen.G (formally KSV eSports) appointed JORDAN SHERMAN as its head of sponsorships & revenue. Before joining Gen.G, Sherman held a position with the NBA L.A. Clippers as director of corporate sponsorships. Previously, he worked for MLB for six years (THE ESPORTS OBSERVER, 6/5).

COACHES/MANAGERS: League One side Barnsley named former Bundesliga club Hannover 96 Manager DANIEL STENDEL its new head coach. The 44-year-old German replaced JOSÉ MORAIS, who left Oakwell last month following the club's relegation from the League Championship. Stendel agreed to a two-year deal (BBC, 6/6). ... JOHN SHERIDAN was appointed as manager of League Two side Carlisle United. The 53-year-old former Republic of Ireland int'l joined after helping League One club Fleetwood avoid relegation at the end of last season. He succeeds KEITH CURLE (BBC, 6/5). ... Ascenso MX side Atlante named GABRIEL PEREYRA its head coach for next season. The club will not be eligible to secure promotion to Liga MX "after failing to meet the league's certification requirements" (NOTIMEX, 6/5). ... Northern Ireland Football League Premiership side Ballymena United Manager DAVID JEFFREY signed a two-year contract extension which will take him through the '20-21 season. In his two years in charge, Jeffrey "has guided the club to consecutive top-six finishes plus a League Cup triumph" (BBC, 6/5). ... JORGE JESUS had one year remaining on his contract with Portugal’s Sporting but the 63-year-old “opted to join” Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal “amid financial and political problems in Lisbon.” The former Benfica manager has the option of an additional year at Al-Hilal, which won the league in ’17-18 (BEIN SPORTS, 6/5).
