Franchise Notes: Leicester City's Fuchs Launches Esports Team

Leicester City's Christian Fuchs "will become the first ever Premier League footballer to have his own video games team." Fuchs is creating his own team, which will have "professional FIFA players representing him at tournaments around the world." He will reportedly "look to expand into other esport titles," but it was not specified which ones (London DAILY MAIL, 6/6).

Serie A side Inter Milan opened three new academies, one in Slovakia and two more in China, taking the number of Inter Academies in the world’s largest country to six. The two new Chinese Inter Academy centers are in Jiangsu and Shenyang in the province of Liaoning. The club said that "the aim of Inter Academy Jiangsu is to support the development of youth football in China, and particularly in the province" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 6/6).

The Sydney rugby team re-formed and will play in the National Rugby Championship after "more than two decades in hibernation." In a bid to be "truly representative," the team "is set to split home games equally between the west and the east." As forecast, a "shake-up of the NSW’s presence in the NRC" included a further rationalization of teams (Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH, 6/6).
