Arsenal Preparing To Open Sports Bar In China

Arsenal Club Shanghai will feature player holograms and a virtual tour of Emirates Stadium.ARSENAL

Arsenal is "preparing to launch a bizarre sports bar in China" featuring player holograms and a virtual tour of Emirates stadium, according to Dave Fraser of THE SUN. The "revolutionary bar" is set to open in the Lyceum Building in Shanghai and will serve "fan favourites" like fish and chips, burgers and pies. No opening date has been announced but Arsenal fans "can look forward to a home away from home in Asia" where they can watch live games on "massive cinema screens." The deal was put in place between the club and Super Halo Sports Culture Development, "with the venue set to be called Arsenal Club Shanghai." The exclusive greater China region license could result in more bars opening within the nation, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, "with a Beijing joint already in the pipeline" (THE SUN, 5/29).
