Media Notes: DAZN Will Show World Cup Highlights In Germany

DAZN, the OTT service operated by digital sports media company Perform, "picked up rights to show highlights" in Germany of the 2018 World Cup. The network will show clips from all 64 games (SOCCEREX, 5/18).

U.K. publishers "continue to probe new ways of combining their ad inventory to rival the scale" of the Facebook-Google duopoly. But now there is an "additional motive: to mitigate risk of commercial ad revenue drop-offs caused by the General Data Protection Regulation." News UK-owned sports brands Dream Team and Talksport and digital sports publisher GiveMeSport are pooling their video “outstream” inventory to offer advertisers "a single point through which they can buy video outstream ads across the three sports brands" (DIGIDAY, 5/18).
