The EuroLeague attracted more spectators to its arenas than ever before during the '17-18 season. The average attendance at a EuroLeague game was 8,864 fans -- for a total of more than 2.25 million spectators. That number is a 4.3% increase in attendance from last season's average of 8,499 fans per game (EuroLeague).
The Bangladesh Cricket Board said that it was “really disappointed” that a test tour of Australia was "scrubbed for financial reasons." Bangladesh had been scheduled to play two tests and three one-day internationals Down Under later this year but there was "no mention of it" when Australia’s schedule for the '18-19 home season was published at the end of last month. BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said, "They have told us this series is not financially viable due to the offseason" (REUTERS, 5/10).
The European Karate Federation launched an investigation into Serbian authorities’ refusal of entry to Kosovo athletes bound for the European championships in Novi Sad this week. Athletes from Kosovo were "refused entry" into Serbia on Tuesday and Wednesday after "being stopped at the border because the team had national symbols that Belgrade does not recognize" (REUTERS, 5/11).
