Fanatics Hires Joachim Hilke As MD Of New Germany Office

Online retailer Fanatics announced the opening of Fanatics Germany. The company’s newest int'l hub will be located in Hamburg, the country’s second-largest city. The move follows the company's recent opening of a Tokyo-based operation and will create an enhanced merchandise offering for leagues, teams, fans and retailers throughout Central Europe. Fanatics named former Sportfive CEO Joachim Hilke, who most recently served as CCO of Bundesliga side Hamburg, as managing director, Fanatics Germany. Fanatics' current European partners include Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Man City. Hilke will report directly to Fanatics Int'l President Steve Davis, who said, "Fanatics Germany is a huge step towards our commitment of growing the company globally. There’s immense fandom and passion for sports throughout this region, and we are excited to bring our innovative capabilities to the local teams, partners and retailers looking to significantly enhance the overall fan experience."
