The BCCI officially informed Cricket Australia that India will not play any day/night test match on its tour of Australia at the end of this year. While Cricket Australia was "insistent" on having a pink ball test, which has been "a convention for all touring teams for the past few years," the Indian board made it clear that India "will not deviate" from the traditional red-ball matches (PTI, 5/7).
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos said that Barcelona forward Lionel Messi "put pressure on the referee" at halftime in Sunday's Clásico, which ended 2-2. The "constant on-field confrontations and meaty challenges" led to referee Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez "dishing out" eight yellow cards. Ramos said, "Messi put him under a bit of pressure in the tunnel, I don't know if there are cameras, maybe he caused him to referee in the second half in a different way" (REUTERS, 5/6).
FIFA will hold this year's eClub World Cup at AMP Studios in Paris from May 19-20. The competition is an inter-club electronic football tournament, with 16 professional esports teams competing, and is part of EA Sports FIFA 18 Global Series on the Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup. Esports teams participating in the event not only compete for a total prize pool of $50,000, but also for four qualification spots in the EA Sports FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs (FIFA).
