Bordeaux Owners Reportedly In Talks With American Investors

Ligue 1 side Girondins de Bordeaux and majority shareholder M6 are reportedly in talks with an American-run investment fund “looking to purchase” the club, according to L’ÉQUIPE. The talks have been progressing over several months and have “recently become more concrete.” The American investors were seen with M6 President Nicolas De Tavernost watching the Bordeaux-Nice match on Feb. 25. Last week, economic magazine Challenges reported M6 was “looking for a buyer” and placed a minimum price of €70M ($86M) for the club. Future owners of the club will also be required to pay €3.85M ($4.75M) annually until ’45 for its stadium (L’ÉQUIPE, 3/19).
