Man City Owner CFG Posts Loss Of £71M For '16-17

City Football Group, which holds investments in various football clubs including Man City, posted a £71M loss from continuing operations for the 13 months to June 30, 2017, according to David Owen of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. This is "not far off double" the £37M loss reported for the previous year. The group attributed this to its Major League Soccer club, NYCFC, and "newly formed service companies" continuing to build their business. CFG's figures are dominated by Man City. Out of £514.3M of revenue in the latest period, the English club generated £473.4M, with NYCFC contributing £30.1M and A-League side Melbourne City £8.4M (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 3/18).
