La Liga club Sevilla presented a plan to increase the capacity of its Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium by 4,400, to more than 47,000, and "improve services," according to PALCO23. The club has invested more than €10M ($12.4M) in stadium renovations in the last three years. It presented the project to the Sevilla City Council and the work is expected to begin this summer. The initial budget is slightly more than €1M ($1.24M) "and essentially consists of increasing the number of rows in each section." Sevilla's plan includes improving security at the stadium to facilitate evacuation. The club will also increase the amount of seats for handicapped fans from 52 to 268 (PALCO23, 3/18).
