IMG-Perform JV Known As FC Diez Media To Advise CONMEBOL

Bruno RochaFC DIEZ MEDIA

IMG and Perform’s 50-50 joint venture, set up to advise CONMEBOL on its commercial rights for club competitions from '19-22, will be known as FC Diez Media. It was announced in September that IMG and Perform were awarded the contract. The first task for FC Diez Media, which aims to have more than 40 full-time employees by October, will be to tender the audiovisual rights for the Copa Libertadores for the domestic market in the 10 countries that make up the South American federation. This will be issued on both the CONMEBOL and FC Diez Media websites. FC Diez Media will separately tender the production rights for the Copa Libertadores and then look to sell the global rights within the next few months.

The joint venture will also provide consultancy, digital strategy, sponsorship and licensing advice for the Copa Sudamericana -- South America's equivalent to the Europa League -- and the Recopa, a matchup of the champions of the previous year's Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana. Perform Content CCO Bruno Rocha, who is the acting CEO of FC Diez Media, said, "We are delighted to have created a global media strategy and sponsorship group in FC Diez Media, and it is pleasing to see all the hard work put in by IMG and Perform paying off." Rocha will remain the joint venture's interim CEO until a permanent appointment is made.
