Football Notes: VAR System To Be Used In CAF Super Cup

The video assistant referee system will be used for the first time in an African competitive game during the Confederation of African Football Super Cup 2018 between Wydada Athletic (Morocco) and TP Mazembe (DR Congo) on Saturday. The green light was given by the Int'l FA Board and FIFA for the competitive trial in the one-off match (CAF). 

At least 10 people were detained on Monday as part of a police operation against match-fixing in Spain's third and fourth tier, sources said. The investigation is being led by a court in Zafra in the autonomous community of Extremadura and the National Police’s Specialized and Violent Crime unit. However, sources said that arrests have been "carried out across the country" (REUTERS, 2/19).
