Media Notes: Sky Sports To Broadcast World Club Challenge

The World Club Challenge between Super League side Leeds Rhinos and National Rugby League club Melbourne Storm on Feb. 16 at the AAMI Park in Melbourne will be shown live on Sky Sports. The broadcaster also confirmed that it will air the Super League game between Wigan Warriors and Hull FC on Feb. 10, which will be played at the WIN Stadium in Wollongong, Australia (ST. HELENS THE REPORTER, 1/18).

Indian Premier League official broadcaster Star India is "banking on technology to expand the scale of the league's viewership in the digital space." This year, the IPL will be available in virtual reality on Hotstar, the network's video streaming platform. Another option within the app will be to pause the match at any given time and "swipe/tilt the phone to get a 360-degree view of the ground." Both will be a first for IPL telecast on digital (BUSINESS STANDARD 1/18).
