Boxers Joshua, Parker To Meet In Unification Bout In Cardiff

British Boxer Anthony Joshua will meet Joseph Parker in a world heavyweight unification fight in Cardiff on March 31, according to the BBC. Joshua, 28, holds the IBF and WBA belts, while New Zealander Parker is the WBO champion. Cardiff's Principality Stadium -- where Joshua successfully defended his titles against Carlos Takam in October -- will host the bout. Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said, "It's the first time in history that two reigning heavyweight world champions have met in Britain." Talks "had previously stalled over how the purse would be split" but a compromise was reached last month which will see Parker, 25, earn 30-35%. Whoever wins in March is "certain to then face" undefeated American Deontay Wilder, who holds the fourth belt in the heavyweight division. No boxer has held all four heavyweight belts simultaneously (BBC, 1/14).

MADE TO MOVE: CAMPAIGN LIVE's Gurjit Degun reported Lucozade Sport and Joshua will host an outdoor exercise class as "part of a campaign to get people exercising." The brand partnered with Our Parks, a program that offers free outdoor workouts around the U.K. Joshua announced the partnership via Twitter last Thursday. The workout will take place on Thursday, with the time and location of the event yet to be revealed (CAMPAIGN LIVE, 1/12).
