TV3 To Be Rebranded Virgin Media TV, Will Feature Six Nations Rugby

TV3 will rebrand as Virgin Media TV in the second quarter of the year, the station announced on Tuesday, according to Jennifer O'Brien of the LONDON TIMES. The move comes after the TV3 group was bought by Liberty Global, parent company of Virgin Media, in '15. TV3 Managing Dir Pat Kiely told guests at the channel's spring launch that plans for the "very significant rebrand" were "well under way." Stars from the station assembled at Roberta's Restaurant in Dublin to unveil details of the programming schedule, the "highlights" of which include Six Nations rugby and the launch of "Ireland's Got Talent." The Irish version of "Britain's Got Talent" will premiere on Feb. 3, the same day as Ireland's opening Six Nations test. TV3 secured the rights to the rugby competition until '21. The station's rugby coverage will feature Ronan O'Gara, Shane Horgan, Alan Quinlan, Shane Jennings and Matt Williams as panelists (LONDON TIMES, 1/10).
