Scottish FA Pays Member Clubs £10.3M To Help Grow Game

The Scottish FA paid £10.3M ($14M) to its member clubs to "support the growth of the game across the country" in '17, according to Matthew Lindsay of the HERALD SCOTLAND. More than £5.9M ($8M) of revenue from the Scottish Cup, derived from broadcasting, sponsorship and proceeds from the semifinals and final, "was distributed to participating clubs." Clubs taking part in Club Academy Scotland, the SFA’s youth performance program, received more than £2M ($2.7M) in investment. SFA CEO Stewart Regan said, "This substantial level of investment underscores our lasting commitment to developing the national game at all levels" (HERALD SCOTLAND, 1/8).
