Media Notes: Bundesliga Unveils 'Loyalty Test' Video Online

The Bundesliga, in its latest film, organized a "loyalty test" for the fans of various teams in the league. The online film, created by Belgian advertising agency Duval Guillaume, "showcases two fake football agents separately inviting three die-hard fans" of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach. They asked them to change their favorite teams and "lured them with money and cars." However, all three fans refused "on the ground that football is about character and passion and not money" (THE DRUM, 1/4).

The Coupe de France match between Rennes and Paris St. Germain on Sunday will only be available through the Eurosport Player. Fans will have to pay €5.99 ($7.23) for a month-long subscription to get access to the game. The channel decided to broadcast 15 matches of the competition exclusively on Eurosport Player (LE PARISIEN, 1/4).

The Israeli government will pay nearly £5M ($6.7M) to the company responsible for distributing British and Irish horse racing to overseas betting operators after a ban on gambling on the sport came into force this week. GBI Racing, the joint venture between Racing UK and At The Races, had a contract with the Israel Sports Betting Board which was due to run until August, "but its business there has been halted as part of a wider campaign against gambling" (RACING POST, 1/3).

Eurosport reached an agreement with the European Broadcasting Union to show biathlon through the '21-22 season. Eurosport secured the exclusive rights to biathlon events in 27 countries and territories including the U.K. and the Netherlands, while Eurosport will be the only place for fans in Italy to watch (Eurosport).
