Pakistan To Build Rs80M Stadium For Men, Rs20M Stadium For Women

The Punjab government released Rs80M ($724,000) for the construction of a new sports stadium in Ahmedpur East, "while a separate sports stadium for women will be built" with an estimated cost of Rs20M ($181,000), according to THE NATION. The plan was announced by PML-N MPA Qazi Adnan Farid, who said that the Pakistan Sports Board started work on the stadium where facilities to play "first class cricket matches will be provided." He added that a pavilion will be part of the stadium and a "big generator and water turbines will also be installed so that sport contests could be continued despite power loadshedding" (THE NATION, 12/30).
