MotoGP Names Energica Supplier Of All-Electric Moto-e World Cup
MotoGP promoter Dorna announced Italian manufacturer Energica as the supplier for the all-electric support class that will commence in '19 and be known as the Moto-e World Cup, according to Puigdemont & Klein of AUTOSPORT. The new championship is "set to feature on the support bill" at select MotoGP rounds in '19. Teams "will use a tuned version of the Energica Ego street bike." The firm, "which beat Belgian constructor Sarolea to become supplier," claims the Ego produces 145bhp and is limited to a top speed of 150mph. In other developments, Michelin Racing Technical Dir Nicolas Goubert will leave the French company to work as the exec director for the Moto-e World Cup (AUTOSPORT, 12/12).
