Event Notes: Punta Del Este Replaces São Paulo On '18-19 Formula E Calendar

Punta del Este, Uruguay, will replace Brazil's postponed São Paulo race on this season's Formula E calendar, the sport's governing body said on Wednesday. São Paulo had been "due to make its debut in the all-electric series on March 17" but was postponed to '19 because the city's authorities are "in the process of selling off the planned venue." Punta del Este hosted rounds of the series in the first two seasons (REUTERS, 12/6).

World Para Powerlifting confirmed Astana, Kazakhstan, will host the 2019 World Championships. It was chosen over Almaty, Kazakhstan due to stronger support from the city's government. The event will take place from June 29-July 6 and a "Raise the Bar!" anti-doping seminar will be conducted from June 27-28 (IPC).
