League Championship side Hull City Manager LEONID SLUTSKY left the club by "mutual consent" after it went seven games without a win. Slutsky became the first Russian to manage an English side when he took over the relegated Premier League club in the summer. However, the 46-year-old "won only four of his 20 league games in charge and questioned his players' mentality after losing 4-1 at Sheffield United" (BBC, 12/3). ... Chelsea Owner ROMAN ABRAMOVICH is set to talk with Slutsky over his future and could offer him "a route straight back into football with Chelsea." MICHAEL EMENALO's departure from his technical director role "freed up space behind the scenes" at the club, although it is "yet to make a firm decision over how he will be replaced" (London TELEGRAPH, 12/4).
