Anthony Joshua's Next Bout Could Be At Twickenham Instead Of Wembley

Anthony Joshua's next fight "could take place at Twickenham because of difficulties finding a date when Wembley Stadium is available," according to Ron Lewis of the LONDON TIMES. The home of English rugby is a "realistic option," according to Eddie Hearn, who promotes the WBA and IBF heavyweight champion. Hearn said, "Wembley is quite difficult this year. We have already been in contact with them and the options aren't great. We basically want the biggest possible stadium and if Wembley is not available, the next best would be Twickenham." WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is a "possible opponent for Joshua," although Hearn admitted that negotiations for the bout were "complex." Hearn said that his preferred date for a fight with Wilder "would be the summer." Wembley would be the "first choice but there are fewer available dates" due to Tottenham playing its home matches at the stadium this season. Twickenham, with a capacity of 82,000, "would be the next option" (LONDON TIMES, 11/7).
