GILES CLARKE will "step down as president" of the England & Wales Cricket Board after 13 years on the board. Clarke became chair of the ECB in '07 having been a non-exec director with the governing body since '04. In '15, he moved to the role of ECB president -- a newly-created position that allowed COLIN GRAVES to "take over the chairmanship but which kept Clarke on the board, with a specific remit to be the representative" with the Int'l Cricket Council (LONDON TIMES, 11/4). ... Olympic Council of Ireland CEO STEPHEN MARTIN "stepped down from his role." Martin, who won an Olympic Gold in field hockey with the British team in '88, left on Friday to "pursue other career interests," the council said. However, he will stay on as chef de mission for the Irish team at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. Martin had been CEO of the OCI since '06 (IRISH NEWS, 11/4). ... U.K. charity Women In Sport appointed ZOË COLLINS as its new chair of trustees. As chief content officer of the Jamie Oliver Group, Collins is responsible for setting the creative direction and delivery of all TV and digital content for its brand (Women In Sport).
COACHES/MANAGERS: LUIZ FELIPE SCOLARI "confirmed his departure" from Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande. A World Cup winner with Brazil, Scolari took over as manager from FABIO CANNAVARO in June '15 and led Guangzhou to three league titles as well as the Asian Champions League and Chinese FA Cup. He said, "My story with Evergrande is finished. But my story with China may continue" (REUTERS, 11/5). ... STEVE KEAN is "on the lookout for a new challenge after agreeing to part ways with struggling S.League side Brunei DPMM." Kean has been "unable to maintain the success of this first three years at the club," having led it to second place in '14 and third in '16 (ESPN.com, 11/4).
