FA Partners With LG Electronics To Upgrade Technology At Wembley, St. George's Park

Visitors to Wembley Stadium and St. George's Park will see an upgrade in terms of technology after a three-year partnership with LG Electronics was struck. The FA's latest partnership -- due to run through Euro 2020 -- sees LG become the first official digital screen partner at both Wembley and SGP, enhancing hospitality areas and other key spaces across the venues. The agreement will span the FA Cup and England's men's teams, with the manufacturer having IP rights associated with the FA Cup and the Three Lions, such as imagery and in-store videos. Club Wembley will also benefit from the introduction of the LG Signature, the brand's ultra-premium range of home entertainment and home appliance products (FA). SOCCEREX reported the deal has been described as being worth a "multi-million" pound sum. British media reports suggested the FA was seeking an annual fee in the region of the £4M ($5.2M) committed by Ladbrokes, whose partnership was "terminated earlier this year when the governing body revisited its policy on commercial arrangements with betting companies" (SOCCEREX, 11/3).
