San Francisco's Olympic Club To Host 2028 PGA Championship, 2032 Ryder Cup

San Francisco's Olympic Club agreed to host the 2028 PGA Championship and 2032 Ryder Cup, according to Ron Kroichick of the S.F. CHRONICLE. The deal, which will be officially announced on Wednesday in a news conference at the club, "effectively removes Olympic from the U.S. Open rotation for the foreseeable future." The U.S. Golf Association offered the 2027 U.S. Open to the Olympic Club, "but contract talks stalled over the past several months." The USGA -- "realizing it might not reach an agreement with Olympic," according to one source -- announced on Oct. 24 that Pebble Beach would host the '27 event. The PGA of America sent out media invitations on Thursday for a "special announcement" at the Olympic Club on Wednesday. The '32 edition of the Ryder Cup, on the Lake Course, will be the first held in Northern California and the first in the state since '59 (S.F. CHRONICLE, 11/2).
