The FA of Ireland "is in line" for a €2.1M ($2.5M) bonus from UEFA if Dublin’s staging of four Euro 2020 games is a success, according to Gordon Deegan of the LONDON TIMES. Briefing documents circulated to members of Dublin City Council confirm that it will spend €3.75M ($4.4M) on hosting the games. The matches at Aviva Stadium in the summer of '20 are "set to bring Ireland an economic benefit" of up to €50M ($58.3M). Three group games and a final-16 match will be held in Dublin and members of the city council have been told that the biggest outlay in its €3.75M spend will be €2M ($2.3M) for a fanzone. The document circulated to the city councilors outlined how the money from UEFA will be spent. It said, "The FAI will be funded by Uefa to a potential €6.1 million ($7.1M), which will be paid in stages on the run-up to the tournament and a bonus of €2.1 million to be paid to the FAI on completion of a successful tournament. The majority of this money will fund the holding of actual matches in the Aviva: the running and associated costs of the stadium" (LONDON TIMES, 10/31).
