Chevrolet Encouraging Girls To Set Goals With #BeAGoalKeeper Campaign

ManU's global partner Chevrolet unveiled a campaign which "encourages young girls to have goals in life and to achieve them," according to Taruka Srivastav of THE DRUM. As part of the campaign titled #BeAGoalKeeper, Chevrolet partnered with Women’s Sports Foundation to "encourage female empowerment." Designed to "demonstrate the possibilities sports can provide to millions of girls worldwide," Chevrolet hosted 11 girls, or "GoalKeepers," aged 11-15 from different parts of the world as mascots for ManU's game against Tottenham on Saturday. Chevrolet also provided them with mentors "based on each girl's individual ambitions." A recent study by global consultancy Ernst & Young indicated that "more than 90% of female business leaders played sports as children." General Motors Chair & CEO Mary Barra said, "Girls who play sports are more likely to graduate from college, have successful careers and become leaders, which is why we have created our GoalKeepers initiative" (THE DRUM, 10/27).
