Pharma Company Grifols Denies Being In Talks To Become Title Sponsor Of Camp Nou

It was reported on Wednesday that pharmaceutical company Grifols was in talks to sponsor Barcelona's Camp Nou, but Grifols "dismissed the speculation," according to MARCA. The Barcelona-based company "operated to a profit" of more than €500M in '15. Radio Catalunya claimed that "negotiations between the two parties were advancing," with a contract worth €15M ($17.5M) per season over 30 years "in the offing." But the firm said in a statement that these reports "were false." The reported sum "would have comfortably beaten" Barcelona's original hopes of a €200M ($233.6M) deal "when setting out to add a sponsor as a surname to the Camp Nou" (MARCA, 10/26).
