BLANE DODDS resigned as CEO of Scottish Golf to take over as CEO of Tennis Scotland. Dodds had been in the post for "just over a year," having succeeded HAMISH GREY after he stepped down "soon after Scottish Golf was created through an amalgamation of the Scottish Golf Union and Scottish Ladies' Golfing Association" (SCOTSMAN, 10/17). ... Australian Football League side Hawthorn appointed JUSTIN REEVES as its CEO. Reeves will commence at the club upon the completion of his responsibilities as Geelong COO (Hawthorn).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Argentine Superliga side Olimpo coach MARIO SCIACQUA resigned after his team's 2-0 loss at home to Huracán on Monday (CLARÍN, 10/17). ... GARTH BRENNAN "pushed aside several prominent candidates" and is "expected to be officially unveiled" as National Rugby League side Gold Coast Titans' coach on Thursday. Brennan was reportedly selected over Brisbane assistant coach JASON DEMETRIOU and former South Sydney coach MICHAEL MAGUIRE for the job (Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH, 10/17). ... ALBERTO ZACCHERONI was named manager of the UAE national football team on an initial 16-month deal, with an option to renew. The contract runs through the 2019 Asian Cup. Zaccheroni replaces EDGARDO BAUZA, who left last month to manage Saudi Arabia's national team (THE NATIONAL, 10/16). ... Premier League side Leicester City sacked Manager CRAIG SHAKESPEARE "only four months" after he succeeded CLAUDIO RANIERI on a permanent basis. Shakespeare signed a three-year contract in June after guiding the club to "Premier League safety" during his spell as caretaker (London DAILY MAIL, 10/17). ... Cagliari Manager MASSIMO RASTELLI became the "first coach fired in Serie A this season," the club confirmed. It is the longest the league has "gone without a firing" since '98. A replacement was not immediately named (AP, 10/17).
