Australia's National Basketball League Names Hungry Jack's Its Naming Rights Sponsor

Australia's National Basketball League will enter its new season with a "whopper" of a naming rights sponsor with fast food chain Hungry Jack's signing on, according to Roy Ward of the SYDNEY MORNING HERALD. The new deal "is only listed for this season," although there are reportedly "options in place for the partnership to continue after that." Sydney Kings sported the Hungry Jack's logo during their NBA preseason clash with the Utah Jazz on Tuesday "and all teams will wear the new logo." The company is also adding its name to the NBL's Heritage Month in January. The NBL "has seen its TV presence jump considerably," with ABC to show a Friday night game and SBS to show Saturday night and Sunday afternoon games, while Fox Sports will show every game (SMH, 10/5). In Brisbane, Greg Davis wrote securing a "big naming-rights sponsor is another feather in the cap" of NBL Owner & Exec Chair Larry Kestelman and his team, "who have made the NBL relevant again," with Fox Sports broadcasting every game and the Bullets returning to the competition last year (COURIER-MAIL, 10/4).
