Marketplace Roundup: IMG, Peform Jointly Awarded Contract To Advise CONMEBOL

IMG and Perform were jointly awarded the contract to advise CONMEBOL on its club competitions from '19-22. Both companies set up a one-off 50/50 joint venture to bid for the business. This addressed all areas in the invitation to tender, including the sale of global media rights, sponsorship and licensing and consultancy on the growth and development of the competitions, including digital strategy. The companies will create a dedicated team and company for the project (IMG).

League Championship side Cardiff City announced it agreed to an exclusive betting partnership with K8.com. The company will position betting booths around Cardiff City Stadium on matchdays (Cardiff City).

Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin and brewing company Carlsberg created a new VIP area with the Carlsberg Fan Club that provides catered seating. The area offers companies and private customers a VIP entry experience and comprises 81 business seats and 70 lounges (Lagardère).

Swiss-Ski renewed its contract with main sponsor Swisscom for another five years until '22. The telecom will continue to sponsor all of the Swiss-Ski teams in the alpine, Nordic, snowboarding, freestyle and telemark disciplines (Swisscom).

Serie A side Lazio announced Renault dealers in Rome, along with Renault Italia, will be the club's premium sponsor for the third consecutive year (Renault).

Brasileiro sides Cruzeiro and Atlético Mineiro announced partnerships with ride-sharing company Uber (MAQUINO DO ESPORTE, 9/27).

The Namibia Premier League is "unlikely to kick off" on Oct. 13 "after being left in no man's land by potential sponsors." Two of the "tentative" sponsors, Namibia Breweries and First National Bank, reportedly "reneged on their intention to invest in the beleaguered football body," a source close to proceedings said. Prospective main sponsor MTC is also "holding out on concluding an agreement with the NPL" (NAMIBIAN, 9/28).

The FIM Superbike World Championship announced Pirelli will continue as its official tire supplier for all classes in the '19 and '20 seasons, making the manufacturer the longest-running control tire supplier in history (WorldSBK).

FIBA announced equipment company Schelde Sports as its official supplier of backstop units for top-level int'l competitions until '20 (FIBA).
