The PGA Tour may have "relationship issues" in mainland China but the Clearwater Bay Open in Hong Kong will go ahead in November. The Clearwater Bay Open was the first PGA Tour China Series event held outside of mainland China last year, but the organization "failed to get the series up and running again this season." PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan earlier this year blamed "relationship complexities" for the China Series being put on hold (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 9/26).
Scottish Premiership side Celtic fans "risk arrest if they turn up for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Anderlecht without a ticket," according to the Belgian club. A "big travelling support is expected to travel to Brussels for the Group B encounter" but fans have been warned they could be arrested if they end up in the municipalities of Anderlecht or Saint-Gilles without a match ticket (PA, 9/25).
The British Masters "joined forces" with EPL club Newcastle United and Newcastle Racecourse to offer "a one-off experience when it arrives in the region later this week." A special-edition combination ticket will include access to the British Masters on either Saturday or Sunday as well as entry to Newcastle United's 125th Anniversary Racenight at Newcastle Racecourse on Friday -- "in recognition of the North East hosting the tournament during NUFC's 125th year" (CHRONICLE LIVE, 9/26).
The public ballot for tickets to the Hong Kong ePrix eVillage "has received an overwhelming response with more than 23,000 people registered so far." Fans are encouraged to register on or before Saturday via the Hong Kong ePrix website to gain free entry into the eVillage. A "ceiling of 10,000 on both days" will be applied for this year's event from Dec. 2-3 at Central Harbourfront (SCMP, 9/26).
Kenya will bid to host either the U17 or U20 World Cup after being stripped of the right to stage the 2018 African Nations Championship. Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa announced Monday the Confederation of African Football promised to give FKF "priority to bid for the global events when Africa hosts the next editions" (XINHUA, 9/25).
More than 20,000 tickets have been sold for the first matchday -- comprising two matches -- of the U17 World Cup on Oct. 6. A "full house for the first two games is expected," according to sources (PTI, 9/26).
