Indian Tire Brand MRF Signs With EPL Clubs West Ham, Newcastle, West Brom

Indian tire brand MRF was named the sleeve sponsor for two Premier League clubs -- West Ham United and Newcastle United -- and was named the official tire partner for West Bromwich Albion, according to DNA. Founded in 1946, MRF is the largest manufacturer of tires in India and has more than 15,000 employees. MRF currently sponsors cricketers Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Sachin Tendulkar, among others (DNA, 9/10). 90MIN reported West Ham and Newcastle "released the news on their Twitter accounts on Friday morning." West Ham will wear the MRF logo in its first home game of the season -- Monday's match against Huddersfield Town (90MIN, 9/8). FOOTBALL TRADE DIRECTORY reported MRF's red logo will be featured on the left sleeve of Newcastle's home, away, third and goalkeeper shirts. It was on display during Newcastle's game at Swansea City on Sunday (FOOTBALL TRADE DIRECTORY, 9/10).
