MLB-Produced Baseball Series Draws Large TV, Digital Audience In China

"Boyhood," the first baseball-themed TV series in China, reached a large Chinese audience across TV and digital platforms. The series, which was produced in cooperation with Major League Baseball, generated more than 5 billion video views and 3.1 billion social media impressions on Weibo, and won its time period on TV during China's primetime (7:30pm-9:30pm). The series aired on Hunan Satellite TV, China's top satellite TV station, and was available on digital platforms Tencent Video and iQiyi Video. "Boyhood" ranked as the No. 1 topic on Weibo during July, the first time that has occurred for a baseball topic in China. MLB Int'l has opened three MLB development centers in China -- in Wuxi, Changzhou and Nanjing (MLB).
