Media Notes: Electric Glue Secures DW Fitness First As Sky Sports Mix Sponsor

Media partnership agency Electric Glue secured sports retail and gym group DW Fitness First as the first channel sponsor for Sky's free-to-air Sky Sports Mix. The deal encompasses a multi-platform creative and media campaign (Electric Glue). 

Telefónica "plans to launch a Netflix-type internet platform to sell its own productions" in countries such as Germany and the U.K. El Pais reported such a move would "help it monetise its growing content portfolio, which now only appears on Movistar+." Quoting sources familiar with the project, it added that the platform "would use a similar formula to Netflix, HBO or Sky" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 8/14).

An average of 1.25 million viewers watched Neymar’s first Ligue 1 match with Paris St. Germain vs. Guingamp -- which PSG won 3-0 -- on Canal+. The audience consisted of 1 million Canal subscribers and 250,000 viewers benefiting from a free broadcast through promotional offers (L’ÉQUIPE, 8/14).
